Dean

7 × 10 inches original watercolor on archival paper

By Timothy Colomer

Dean honors Timothy Colomer’s former boss at Quantico, a Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant who became a good friend. The inspiration comes from a memorable call: Dean suited up to enter a bank and retrieve a suspected explosive device from the counter. In this original watercolor, Timothy gives that personal memory a playful form through a duck in a bomb suit. Behind the unlikely character is a real connection to someone he worked alongside—a nod to his old boss and the friendship that followed.
