Taxi Ride
Taxi Ride
7 × 10 inch watercolor on archival paper
By Timothy Colomer
After touching down in Los Angeles, Robert and Mike had one very important decision to make.
Walk...
...or take a taxi.
Considering they were carrying everything they owned, the decision wasn't exactly difficult.
Within minutes, their bags were loaded into the trunk, and they climbed into the bright yellow cab. As they pulled away from the airport, the city skyline stretched across the horizon, full of places they had never seen and adventures they couldn't possibly imagine.
The driver smiled into the rearview mirror.
"First time in Los Angeles?"
Robert answered before Mike had the chance.
"It sure is... and we have absolutely no plan."
The driver laughed.
"Perfect. That's usually how the best stories begin."
Sometimes the journey starts long before you reach your destination.
Sometimes it begins the moment you say, "Let's go."
If you could jump into a taxi anywhere in the world, where would you ask the driver to take you?
