The fishing had been slow all morning.

Robert blamed the weather.

Mike blamed the bait.

Neither one wanted to admit they had absolutely no idea what they were doing.

Then, almost at the same time...

Both fishing rods bent over.

After a flurry of splashing, tangled lines, and more excitement than skill, the two friends somehow landed enough trout for dinner.

Standing proudly beside the campfire, they couldn't stop smiling.

It didn't matter who caught the biggest fish.

What mattered was that they caught them together.

As the sun began to set, Robert looked over at Mike and grinned.

"I think we finally figured this fishing thing out."

Mike looked at the pile of trout, then at the hopelessly tangled fishing lines lying on the ground.

"I wouldn't get carried away."

The best adventures aren't measured by trophies.

They're measured by the stories you tell around the campfire afterward.
