Some friendships are built over a lifetime.

Others begin with a single act of service.

This painting was inspired by my journey to London, where I had the privilege of visiting The Felix Fund, a remarkable charity dedicated to supporting current and former Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel and their families.

While there, I created an original painting to help support their mission.

During my visit, I was welcomed not only by the EOD community, but also by one very familiar face.

Felix the Cat.

For generations, Felix has been the unofficial mascot of British bomb disposal teams, a symbol of courage, resilience, and the quiet humor shared by people who willingly walk toward danger so others can walk safely away.

Standing beside Robert in his Marine Corps dress blues, Felix reminds us that friendship doesn't recognize borders.

Whether wearing a uniform in London, Washington, or anywhere else in the world, those who serve often discover they speak the same language.

Duty.

Trust.

And looking after one another.

As the Resident Artist for The Felix Fund, I wanted this painting to celebrate that bond and the people who continue supporting those who have spent their lives protecting others.

Fifteen percent of every sale of this artwork is donated directly to The Felix Fund to help continue their important mission.
